Saw the new Indiana Jones movie tonight. I give it a “meh.” It was exciting enough, I suppose, but absolutely and one hundred percent predictable. This movie has no brain. For my money, I like a little cleverness. I like a surprise or two. I was pretty bored with it and mainly stayed to watch the effects.
Husband, on the other hand, loved it. He says it’s a perfect complement to the earlier films, which means I have lost whatever urge I had to watch those earlier Jones movies (which I have not seen). If they’re anything like this one, I have better things to do. Booooring!

*mind blown*
I didn’t think there was anyone in the world who hasn’t seen at least one of the Indiana Jones original trilogy!
I haven’t seen the new one yet but I urge you to at least watch Raiders of the Lost Ark before making your decision.
Well, I do like Harrison Ford. I may watch them yet.
The first one was best, and third was good, too.
I liked most of the new one, although some of Lucas’s story made me want to throw something at the screen. We get it, its the 50s. Can you stop throwing every stereotype possible on the screen?!? Somebody stop him from writing anything else. Let him bask in Star Wars and move on.
The ending, on the other hand, was just way too sci-fi for me, at least in an Indiana Jones movie. I mean, the “religious miracles” in the other movies were fantasy, but this movie was too much in that regard.
Fantasy?
Everyone knows that if you fool around with the Ark of the Covenant or the Holy Grail, you’ll get melted or dessicated.

You should definitely watch Raiders of the Lost Ark. You could pass on the other two but if you like Raiders, watch Last Crusade.
