Today I got two emails from Amazon in the States, alerting me of refunds they are issuing to me. One is for $4.31, one is for $9.17.
I haven’t asked for any refunds. I never gave back any books. I haven’t bought anything at those prices. The order the emails cite as the relevant one is for a couple of books which, at this very moment, are sitting on my window sill.
So… what would you do?

Contact Amazon and ask why you’re getting a refund.
It’s not spammy password fishing, is it?
Doesn’t seem to be… hasn’t asked me to do anything or contact anyone. Weird, huh?
From what I understand, as long as a cheque is addressed to you, you are allowed to cash it. If they fucked up then it’s their problem and they have to eat the cost.
Check with your bank first and see what they say about it and what they can do. I mean, it’s only about $15, but hey, that’s a fancy lunch!
Well, I have more morals than you and don’t wish to take money that isn’t mine – you mercenary!
I emailed Amazon and they explained that I got the refund because when my package arrived in Thailand, the Thai government neglected to charge import duty, which they precharged me, so they were refunding it.
Let me say here that I don’t live in Thailand, don’t have a mailing address there, and in fact my parcel was addressed and delivered to Canada. So… I don’t know where they got Thailand from but at least they gave me my money back.
