That was the sound of me losing a post for the first time because my blogging software decided to take a big shit without warning. I am normally a compulsive saver of drafts as I work so it isn’t usually a problem, but today, clicking “save draft” causes WordPress to take a Big Shit and delete my work.
Amusingly enough, so does clicking “publish” which explains why this is the second time I’ve written this little post. Oh internet. You make me laugh so.
That’s weird. Wordpress is usually very good about that kind of thing. It could be a problem with the webhost. I’ll have a look around.
It seems to have developed a new quirk where it wants me to log in much more often – previously I only logged in if I closed the window. But now it brings me back to the login screen if it has been dormant for a while (though sometimes “a while” has been as short as two minutes!). This includes when you hit the Save Draft button. I have started copying my text to the clipboard before clicking anything.
This happened again this morning BTW. Shrug. Computers are a mystery to me.
