You know what bugs the shit out of me? People who say “eck-scape.” For crying out loud… it’s escape. Escape! Not “ec-scape”! It’s incorrect, and what’s more, it’s harder to say! There’s no saving of effort or syllables such as with, say, “mirror.” Almost everyone pronounces this “meer” and though it is indeed a sloppy pronounciation, I can at least see why people do it. It’s hard to say “mirror.” It’s easy to say “meer.” People are lazy with their speech. No big deal.
But ec-scape? Aaaargh!
I should go back to bed.
Were you watching last night’s Dollhouse episode? Someone on that show said “eckscape” and I literally paused the show and ranted about how I hated that.
