Garden

July 17th, 2009

Three years ago Husband and I experienced an enormous shift in the way we think, and as a result we became vegetarians.  One year  later, we’d made the full transition to vegan eating and, a few slips and accidents aside, remain 100% vegans to this day.  It’s just a part of who we are.

I feel like I’m in the middle of another enormous shift, this time to do with sustainable living and self production of the resources we need.  I have never grown a vegetable nor raised a farm animal.  I live in an apartment (though it has a big deck).  But I really want to try seeing how much of our needs I can meet myself, growing things for us to eat primarily.

So I will start a garden.  It’s late in the season but I’m going to see what I can come up with.  Intensive planning stage begins now!

That’s interesting. What’s the cause of this shift? Best of luck with your garden!
