Looks like I accidentally ordered two copies of a book that came in the mail today. The book is Empty Cages, by Tom Regan. It’s about animal rights, written by probably the leading voice in the movement. He’s a professor of philosophy. This book is written for the lay person, to get an overview of the issues and concerns related to animal rights. One of its major goals is to facilitate discussion between animal rights people and other people by breaking down stereotypes.

Since I have this extra copy, and I don’t need two, I thought I’d give the second one away. If you are interested in getting a copy of this book for free and you live in Canada or the US, I will happily mail it to you in the interests of spreading knowledge and information. It’s okay if you’re a meat eater, or someone who is not a supporter of animal rights - we’re all about sharing the facts and letting you make up your own mind here at Blogosaurus Vex! But you never know, you might just come over to the dark side once you read this little baby!

All you need to do is leave a comment here saying you’d like it, along with a statement of what you think about an animal rights issue.  I’m interested in what you think about fur, meat, captivity, extinction, religious dictates, zoos, and anything else on this topic.  There’s no intellectual fascism here so please feel free to give opinions that aren’t the same as mine - think of this as a little public opinion poll.

If I get more than one taker, I will pick a winner based on the quality of their comment (but remember, that doesn’t mean the extent to which they agree with me!).  Yes it’s arbitrary, but still, it’s free for you!  Once I announce the winner, I’ll invite him or her to email me with their home mailing address and boom, book in the mail.
