Tonight I watched a limo driver crawl around inside the trunk of his limo for over an hour.  I have no idea what was in there, but it was clearly pretty compelling.

I got home from Halifax today.  I have now been up for… twenty hours.  All I can really say, other than that I am totally exhausted and still sick with a very resilient cold, is Husband makes better posts than I do, Halifax was warmer than expected and I sweated a lot, and I have an amusing story about a cab driver and some hookers to tell you.

But first I have to go drool on my pillow for many hours.

Aunt Jemima butter flavoured syrup is better than real maple syrup.

Kraft Dinner is better than any home made variant.

Pepperoni is better then steak.

I consider it a low blow that you continue to make me allergic in fall.  Wasn’t summer enough?  Must I sneeze and tear at the eye and have inflamed sinuses for half the year?  I concede to your superiority.  Please let me feel better.

I am a big fan of Inspector Morse, and the other night I watched an episode in which he talked about a “lamentation of swans.”  It got me thinking of other collective nouns for animals.  Here are the ones Husband and I could think of:

a murder of crows

a parliament of fowls

a pride of lions

a gaggle of geese

a bed of clams (or mussels)

a school of fish

a pack of dogs

a brood of chicks

a flock of chickens

a pod of whales

a troop of baboons

a swarm of bees

Without cheating and googling it, do you have any you could add?  I really wracked my brains to get this many!

How do you download songs one at a time these days?  Five years ago, which is the last time I did this, you just hopped on to a Napster-type program and nabbed songs.  It seems the technology has moved on since then and, as usual, I have been left in the dust.  I have experimented a little using my torrent searching websites to find songs but am not having much success.  Everything is bundled as albums or multiple albums and half the time I can’t make a connection anyway.  And I have to wade through all kinds of non-music entries.  If anyone out there can tell me where to get songs again I’d be thrilled.

Because if I don’t hear the Junkyard Dogs covering Breaking the Law like, today, I will die.

…waking up in the morning to discover there is nothing in the house to eat for breakfast?  Graaagh!

I am the easiest person on earth to computers.  I never do anything to mine.  I don’t install software, I don’t do sketchy things online, I only ever surf the internet and use Word.  That’s it.  But for some reason my stupid laptop has decided that I can never watch online videos on it ever again.  Whenever I try to watch, say, YouTube or anything related, I get two seconds of video, no sound, and then it stops.

I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling Flash.  Sometimes, when I do this, I can watch vids for about twenty minutes and then it craps out again.  But usually nothing changes.  It’s been going on for months.  Seriously, what is the point of the internet if you can’t watch video?

If you have any ideas of what I should do to fix this, please tell me.  I can’t afford to buy a new computer. Help!
